Meet Dr. Marion Messmer

Loves Helping Our Patients

Dr. Marion Messmer is a native of Charleston, WV. She became intrigued with dentistry at an early age during her very first dental appointment, and proceeded to attend West Virginia University School of Dentistry, Division of Dental Hygiene graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. This award is given to only one recipient and reflects excellence in clinical skills.

Upon graduation she moved to Washington, DC to practice hygiene in general dentistry and periodontal practice settings. Her continued interest in dentistry brought her back to WVU where she attended dental school and graduated in 1986. She achieved the Operative Dentistry award for top performance from the WVU School of Dentistry, an award again reflecting her accomplished clinical skills in restorative dentistry.

Dr. Marion MessmerPost graduation, Dr. Messmer practiced as an associate dentist in Washington, DC and established her own dental practice in Arlington, VA focusing on family dentistry. In 2007 Dr. Messmer and her family moved to Harrisonburg, VA where she assisted in organizing the Harrisonburg Rockingham Dental Clinic to serve the surrounding community.  She continues to work as a private practice family dentist focusing on restorative, preventative and cosmetic dentistry and attends continuing education courses to update and advance her knowledge of the ever changing world of dentistry.

To continue to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID 19, we kindly ask that if you have an upcoming dental appointment that you follow these COVID 19 guidelines:

  • Please reschedule your dental appointment should you have any symptoms of COVID 19 (fever, fatigue, dry cough, difficulty breathing, aches & pains, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste).
  • Please refrain from bringing additional individuals with you to your appointment.
  • Please wear a mask.

In the interest of patient safety, we would like to share some of our safety measures practiced in our office. N95 Masks, protective face shields, and gloves will continue to be worn by providers.
Daily temperature monitoring of all staff, including our front desk support, assistants, hygienists, and doctors. Every operatory is wiped down with disinfectant between every patient. Door pulls, countertops, front desk, restroom handles and waiting room wiped down frequently with disinfectant. We appreciate and value your continued understanding during this health crisis.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
